ENERGY CHINA Signed Project MOU with Bosnia and Herzegovina Government


At 14:00 on Nov. 27, 2017 Hungarian local time, ENERGY CHINA and Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed an MOU on BiH Kamengrad 2X215MW Coal-fired Power Plant project at Budapest, capital city of Hungary. Mr Ding Yanzhang, president and deputy secretary of Party Committee of ENERGY CHINA, and Mr Mirko Šarović, vice president of the BiH federal government attended the ceremony. Yu Gang, vice president of ENERGY CHINA hosted the ceremony.

Ding introduced the situation, business scopes, key overseas projects and achievements of ENERGY CHINA. He pointed out that: ‘Bosnia is a land of hopes and we see great urges and potentials for future development’. The signing of the MOU for the Kamengrad 2X215MW Coal-fired Power Plant project is a major step towards the materialization of the spirit of ‘16+1 cooperation’ between China and the central and eastern European countries. ENERGY CHINA shall promote the early execution, construction and operation of this project with the best technologies, management and services.

Šarović emphasized that ‘ENERGY CHINA is a key partner in the BiH power field and the Kamengrad 2X215MW Coal-fired Power Plant project is a major strategic project with great significance in planning and development of the power and energy sector of BiH government. the BiH federal government shall prioritize this project in terms of resources to promote its early operation’. He also hoped that ENERGY CHINA could cooperate closely with the project client to promote project progress so that the project may start by the time of the upcoming summit of heads of government of the central and eastern European countries and China in 2018.

Mr Dragan Stipić, member of the board of directors of the Lager Group- client of the BiH Kamengrad 2X215MW Coal-fired Power Plant project, signed the MOU with Mr Deng Jianhua, vice president of ENERGY CHINA.

The opening ceremony of the 6th Summit of Heads of Government of Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) and China and the 7th China-CEEC Economic and Trade Forum was held on November 27 at Budapest, capital city of Hungary. The MOU for BiH Kamengrad 2X215MW Coal-fired Power Plant project was listed in the ‘Outcome List of 6th China-CEEC Summit’   as the 26th achievement of the meeting.

Mr Czesław Okińczyc, counselor to premier of Lithuania was invited to attend the ceremony. Attendees also include: Mr Nedjo Kapetina, energy advisor to minister of BiH, Nina Nina Pobrić, director of investment division of foreign investment promotion agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives from the economic trade mission of BiH and official press of BiH, and Mr Lu Jianping, GM and deputy secretary of Party Committee of ENERGY CHINA TEPC and Mr Xu Dong, deputy GM of ENERGY CHINA TEPC.
