In May 28 (Pakistan Standard Time), Unit 2 of Hub Project in Pakistan was successfully connected to the grid for the first time. After the grid connection, the unit operated stably, with normal technical parameters.
　　Following the successful grid connection of Unit 1 for the Project on December 28, 2018, and by cooperating with various participation teams and operation & maintenance teams, it accelerated the construction and commissioning of Unit 2 for Hub Project. On May 25, the first impulse starting of turbines was realized, and on May 27, the unit was restarted after purging of the generators and clearing of the strainer of the generators during shutdown and impulse started to 3,000 rpm smoothly, with excellent bearing vibration, segment temperature and other main parameters and indexes; it met the grid connection conditions after overspeed test and various electrical tests, and was successfully connected to the grid on May 28 at one time.The Hub Project in Pakistan is a priority project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and a major energy priority project in "The Belt and Road". The Project, located in Balochistan Province of Pakistan, is planned to build 2 × 660 MW coal-fired units with the supercritical technologies on reducing coal consumption, cost and emissions, to improve the economy and energy conservation and environmental protection of the Project. Since the official commencement on March 21, 2017, the Hub Project has always targeted at winning the Gold Prize for National Prime-quality Project and the title of benchmark and demonstration project; the successful grid connection of Unit 2 for power generation is the key to build the Hub Power Station into the "friendship project, pro-people project and sample project" of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
