On the afternoon of May 30, the kick-off meeting of the Missan 800MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project, Iraq was held in Tianjin. Yang Jianqiang, Deputy General Manager of CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. and Fu Xiujun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman (Executive Director) of CEEC Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Chong, Deputy General Manager of CITIC Construction Middle East Pision, presided over the signing ceremony.
　　In his speech, Fu Xiujun said that, by adhering to the development vision of "bringing benefits to the public and building a better future” and the management concept of "client-centered", CITIC Construction has actively expanded international market and established branches in overseas markets in Algeria and other places, and has developed several international projects such as Candiota Thermal Power Plant in Brazil and obtained outstanding achievements and generated far-reaching impact. As the first EPC project of CITIC Construction in the field of electricity in Iraq, Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. knew deep down inside that its mission is glorious and its responsibility is weighty to participate in the Missan Project. Therefore, during construction, our company will give full play to our advantages, clarify responsibilities, refine Pision of labor, strengthen communication, provide close cooperation, prevent risk, formulate a scientific and effective construction scheme in accordance with the overall plan and carry out the project construction comprehensively, carefully and solidly, so as to complete the tasks assigned by the general contractor, pay back on its trustiness with our performance, thus building the Missan Project into a model project for Sino-Iraq cooperation and a top-quality project of CITIC Construction and bringing benefits to the people of both countries.
　　In his speech, Yang Jianqiang pointed out that Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. made a quick response on May 15 when the project is started. The company dispatched professional teams to the site, overcame negative factors such as high temperature and insufficient resources in the locality and started test pile and other projects as quickly as possible, fully demonstrating the image of "being capable and reliable” and deeply impressing all parties and CITIC Construction. He was deeply grateful for that. He stressed that CITIC Construction, as the general contractor, will build an efficient cooperation platform for all parties in a responsible manner. He expressed his hope that each partner should pay attention to the hard-earned Missan Project and implement management effectively with a long-term perspective and in a responsible manner, overcome difficulties such as inadequate experience of team and limited understanding in the locality, be united to prepare a scientific and practicable construction scheme under the pressing duration, strive to build the project into a model for CITIC to open the Iraqi market, and lay a solid foundation for future long-term cooperation.
　　Zhao Zhiyong, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Overseas Engineering Company, Li Qi, Deputy General Manager of CEEC Zhejiang Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. Deng Haopeng, General Manager of Overseas Project Sales of Siemens Power and Gas Pision, He Weixue, General Manager of Hangzhou Boiler Group Co., Ltd., and Wang Zhixian, Deputy General Manager of SEC-SPX Engineering & Technologies Co., Ltd. respectively made speeches on behalf of their companies.
　　At the meeting, Yang Jianqiang and Zhao Zhiyong signed the EPC construction contract on behalf of both parties. Yang Jianqiang and Fu Xiujun jointly agreed that, starting from the Missan project, both company will strengthen deep communication in the future to explore international market.
　　It is learned that after the meeting, all participants will also hold a one-day communication meeting to discuss the implementation of the contract.  
　　The 800MW Combined Cycle Power Plant is located about 20 km southeast of Amara City, Missan Province in Iraq. It is planned to build one 800MW 9F Class two-driven-one gas-steam combined cycle unit in the duration of 33 months. The Owner is Raban Al-Safina for General Contracting Ltd. of Iraq, EPC General Contractor is CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. and the Construction General Contractor is Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. The successful signing of the project represents the company’s important achievement in expanding the Iraqi market after Wassit Power Plant and Missan Oilfield Gas Turbine and Grid projects.
