Phase Modifier Project of Qinghai Hainan Convetor Station Contracted byEnergy China TEPC Has Pass Trial-Run of 168 Hours
  

  On December 28th, the 168 hours trial-run of 4# phase modifier of Qinghai Hainan ±800 kV convertor station contracted byEnergy China TEPC has completed, and the synchronization and trial-runs of all four phase modifiers have completed.
  Qinghai-Henan ±800kV UHV DC project has a total length of about 1,587 kilometers and a transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts. After completion, it can input 40 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to Henan every year. The project is completely independently powered by clean energy and its complementary capabilities. It is the first practice in the world to use large DC transmission technology to achieve the bundle transmission of clean energy such as wind, light, and hydropower for long-distance transmission.
  The phase modifier project adopts the latest technology of the Energy Internet, which can realize the digitization of equipment monitoring, automation of unit operation and maintenance, and remote dispatching control. It is a supporting project along the “Belt and Road” and a auxiliary project of Qinghai-Henan UHV DC Project. After the project is officially put into operation, the problem of reactive power voltage stability caused by the large-scale connection of UHV cross-regional DC transmission and new energy to the grid will be effectively solved, providing strong support for the strong and stable operation of Qinghai UHV backbone grid and the transmission of new energy. This is the world’s first UHV artery dedicated to serving photovoltaic power generation and the first specially constructed for clean energy delivery, which will effectively promote the intensive development and construction of Qinghai’s millions of kilowatts of new energy bases and large-scale delivery. Promoting the consumption of clean electricity in the western region is of great significance to helping Qinghai to fight poverty, boosting Henan’s energy transformation and air pollution control.
  TEPC is not only responsible for the civil construction, equipment installation, and unit commissioning of the phase modifier area, but also undertaking the UHV convertor station project with the highest altitude in China, the UHV DC transmission project and the “originating station”-conversion area of Hainan ±800 kV convertor station project, as well as the civil construction of the main and auxiliary control buildings, and the installation of steel structures.
