On June 15, local time, the photovoltaic area ofthe China aid Central Africa photovoltaic power plant project contracted by China Energy Engineering Tianjin Power Construction Co., Ltd. was all connected to the grid for power generation.
The project started on April 8, 2021. Energy China TEPC is responsible for a new 15 MW solar photovoltaic power station, a new 63 kV booster station, a 5 MWh energy storage system, and supporting power transmission and transformation lines. During the construction of the project, all the participants overcame many difficulties such as the unstable local political situation, malaria and typhoid fever, lack of materials, and lagging logistics. Quality control and project performance were promoted with great tenacity.
It is reported that the China aid Central Africa photovoltaic power station project is an important consensus reached by the two heads of state during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September 2018. The Central African Republic has a shortage of electricity, with 35% power supply in the capital and only 8% in the entire country. The project, with a total of 15 MW, will effectively alleviate the shortage of electricity in the country after completion and poses great significance in deepening mutual friendship and promoting cooperation between the two countries.
