The company signed an MOU on project cooperation agreement with the government of Malawi

On the morning of June 29, the signing ceremony of MOU on the project cooperation agreement between the company and the govement of Malawi was held at the headquarters of Energy China TEPC. Fu Xiujun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Company, and Honored Mr Jacob Hara, Minister of Transport and Public Works of Malawi, attended the signing ceremony. Before the ceremony, the two sides had a friendly discussion and exchange of ideas.

On behalf of the company, Fu Xiujun warmly welcomed the visit of the minister and his entourage. He expressed gratitude of the government of Malawi for its care and support to Energy China TEPC, and briefly introduced the company's development and "4+2+N" business layout. He said that under the joint concern and leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Chakwera, China-Malawi relations have continued to develop steadily and healthily, and cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Energy China TEPC actively responds to the "Belt and Road" initiative, and under the guidance of "Several Opinions" and the "1466" strategy of our parent company China Energy Engineering Group, it continues to accelerate the pace of "going out" and has rich overseas implementation experience. The company will continue to uphold the principle of "meeting client’s needs with our engineering advantages to achieve win-win results with consensus from both sides", we look forward to deepening and expanding the levels and space of cooperation with the Malawi government in terms of infrastructure, energy and power engineering, and contributing to improving the level of economic and trade cooperation between China and Malawi.

Honored Mr Jacob Hara pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malawi and China, the relations between the two countries have developed rapidly and healthily, political mutual trust has been continuously enhanced, and that ‘Malawi has obvious geographical advantages, rich mineral resources, beautiful tourism scenery, and obvious latecomer advantages’. As one of the earlier "going out" enterprises, Energy China TEPC has outstanding comprehensive strength and obvious integration advantages, and has built many high-quality projects in many countries around the world. It is hoped that Energy China TEPC will take this cooperation as a start and by relying on advanced, reliable and safe Chinese technology and Chinese experience, and deeply participate in the construction of relevant projects in Malawi. The government of Malawi will provide strong and necessary support for the development of Energy China TEPC in the country. It is hoped that both sides can form a platform of communication and exchange for cooperation between the two sides to achieve win-win results and contribute to the construction of a closer China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.  

The signing ceremony was held later in the meeting and Chen Jian, deputy chief engineer of the company and general manager of overseas engineering company, and Ni Yaoliang, CEO of Afripro, signed the MOU on behalf of both parties.

Before the meeting, accompanied by Fu Xiujun, Honored Mr Jacob Hara and his entourage visited the hall of fame of the company.

It is known that Malawi is a landlocked country located in southeast Africa, with an area of 118,000 square kilometers and a population of 19.43 million. Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania are its neighbors. With the Great Rift Valley runs north and south, and Lake Malawi covers 20% of the country's land area, Malawi is known as the "warm heart of Africa". Its people are warm and kind, and the public security situation is good. There is a large space for investment and economic and trade cooperation between China and Malawi, and its market is worthy of in-depth attention and development by Chinese enterprises.
